Shining Beach Heroines Sonia -Summer Princess- 1/7 Scale (Vertex) Pre-Orders Open

With my burgeoning swimsuit figure interest being what it is I couldn't help but make a quick post about the new upcoming figure from Vertex. They teased it a few days ago on twitter, but here it is in all its glory, up for pre-order and due out in just half a year in April 2020. Priced at a reasonable 13,000 JPY after discounts, this looks like it would be a great addition to my collection but with my current ordered figure count up above 10 and my budget a little on the tight side, I'm going to let a little time pass before I hit the pre-order button. Still, she looks great.

Date A Live - Kurumi Tokisaki - 1/7 - Lingerie Ver.- Figure Review

I'm back with another figure review! This time it's another character I know nothing about really. Honestly, I had to google her name a few times to make sure I had it right and looking at it now I'm still not entirely sure. Apparently she is from a series called Date A Live.What I do know is that Kurumi Tokisaki is a very popular character who has had a lot of merchandise and several figures, though looking back it seems that many of them were from the infamously bad and now defunct Griffon Enterprises. More recently she has started to get figures from better manufacturers like Alter and this superlative figure from Alphamax.. Normally Kurumi appears in a red and black gothic lolita style dress that I always thought had a certain saloon girl flare to it, but here it seems we've caught her in a more intimate moment. Faerie Queen Elaine Standard Ver. 1/5 Scale (Native) - Figure Review

It feels like a lifetime ago that I posted a preview for this figure once it was announced by Native. The world was definitely in a different place then, and perhaps I was as well in regards to this website and also the figure hobby in general. The past year has seen a real slow down in my figure acquisitions, for budgetary reasons and also logistical problems around shipping from Japan. I did still receive a couple of figures however, and Faerie Queen Elaine based on the original character illustration by Tony Taka was one of them. Hello again! Today I would like to do the first of what I expect will be a series of shop reviews covering the best shops to order anime figures and other goods from if you live in the United States. There are a lot of options when it comes to shops to buy from, so I hope this information can be useful to both new and veteran collectors. The first shop I'll be talking about is one that I've been shopping with A LOT over the past two years or so: Tokyo Otaku Mode . My hope is to answer the following question for you: Is Tokyo Otaku Mode a good shop to order anime figures from? The things that most stand out when going to this store are the frequent TOM point promotions and the at first glance high prices of the items.
