Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - KOS-MOS - 1/7 - Re: (Max Factory) Pre-Orders Begin 8/29/19

Orders will be opening for KOS-MOS Re: 1/7 scale figure starting 8/29/19, according to Max Factory's official twitter account . It has been ages since I played the Xenosaga games but I always enjoyed the design of KOS-MOS. As far as android ladies from JRPGs go, she's maybe the most iconic and recognizable. This looks like it will be her first truly modern figure from a well known and reputable manufacturer. The previous best version of her having been released way back in 2008 by Alter. That one is looking pretty dated by today's standards, so  this is a welcome update. The level of detail on her armor and weapons is really amazing, and while I'm not crazy about her face, the optional mask part makes her look really cool.  I'm not dying to pick this figure up, but I think she could find a place on my shelf if the price is right (not likely) and the opportunity presents itself.  I'll update with the price and release date when that information is available

Tokyo Otaku Mode - Shop Review

Hello again! Today I would like to do the first of what I expect will be a series of shop reviews covering the best shops to order anime figures and other goods from if you live in the United States.  There are a lot of options when it comes to shops to buy from, so I hope this information can be useful to both new and veteran collectors.  The first shop I'll be talking about is one that I've been shopping with A LOT over the past two years or so: Tokyo Otaku Mode .  My hope is to answer the following question for you: Is Tokyo Otaku Mode a good shop to order anime figures from? The things that most stand out when going to this store are the frequent TOM point promotions and the at first glance high prices of the items. I know that for a year or two after first seeing the site I would wonder about those two things. What are these TOM points, exactly? Why the heck are the prices on this site so high? Well, it turns out there's good reasons for both of those things and e

PLAMAX MF-43 Minimum Factory Record of Lodoss War Deedlit 1/20 Plastic Model Pre-Orders are Open

Wow so here is a thing that came out of nowhere. I am pretty interested in these PLAMAX MF kits, having purchased two in the past but not yet built or painted any. Previously I had purchased Misa Hayase from Macross and also one of Shunya Yamashita's Military Cuties line, but I've been a little bit intimidated when it comes to starting them.  This one looks like it would be a good one to start with, considering I have some experience painting 28mm fantasy figures.  1/20 scale is a lot bigger so some of the areas like Deedlit's cloak might present a challenge but I think i'll be up for it at least as a test for the other models. It has been ages since I watched Record of Lodoss War but I recall having some or all of it on VHS as a kid. It was right up my alley as a nerd who spent hours pouring over D&D books even though I wouldn't actually play much until more than a decade later. The price is just around 3,000 JPY on Amiami and she'

Figure Review - 1/6 Scale Ane Naru Mono Chiyo (Dragon Toy)

Hello and welcome back (or welcome if it's your first time) to another review of a recent figure based on Chiyo from Ane Naru Mono. This particular figure is based on a scene from volume 1 of the Ecchi manga published in the US by Yen Press as The Elder Sister-Like One. It is written and illustrated by Pochi Iida, who is also responsible for the original hentai manga that the Ecchi manga spun off of. Basically, it's about a teenage orphan who finds himself living alone after his uncle is hospitalized for some reason. He inadvertently discovers a Lovecraftian Elder God in his uncle's house and she just happens to be a sexy demon with horns, goat legs, and tentacle feelers for hair. It's a kind of meandering slice of life incest fan-service manga with great art. Here we can see Chiyo appearing in her demon form, wearing a swimsuit, and looking at a flower with I can only characterize as a sighing admiration smile. This is a common expression in anime and ma
